Job Description

Vectour Group (Vectour) is seeking a high performing Venue Operations Manager for our major event projects. This role is responsible for the people, processes, and performance that make our venue transportation services run flawlessly. The Venue Operations Manager oversees all on-site supervisors and staff, ensures seamless passenger flow, and delivers world-class service to clients and event constituents. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Pre-Event Planning
  • Develop staffing plans for assigned venues, determining headcount and shift schedules for all operational positions
  • Recruit, hire, and train for event day execution
  • Plan crowd management strategies for load zones, queuing areas, and high-traffic locations
  • Collaborate with security teams and coordinate transportation integration with venue security protocols
  • Integrate transportation operations with other functional areas including parking, wayfinding, and guest services

Event Day Operations

  • Lead daily venue operations, ensuring everything runs efficiently and smooth
  • Supervise venue/site supervisors including Load Zone, Bus Staging, Traffic, and other operational supervisors
  • Monitor passenger flow, queue lengths, and service levels in real-time
  • Coordinate bus arrivals and departures with depot operations to ensure on-time service
  • Respond quickly to operational issues, service disruptions, and changing conditions
  • Communicate proactively with clients and stakeholders, consistently exceeding expectations

Team Leadership

  • Coach and mentor your team, developing skills, morale, and performance to deliver world-class service
  • Conduct pre-event briefings and training for venue staff
  • Foster engagement, accountability, and teamwork at every level
  • Ensure all positions are properly staffed and personnel are in place before event start

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in operations, event staffing, security, or related field
  • Experience supervising teams in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with ability to motivate teams to perform at their best
  • Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills
  • Proven ability to manage schedules and staff effectively
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and flexibility to adapt quickly
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sports Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
Preferred
  • Experience with major events, stadium operations, or large-scale public gatherings
  • Background in crowd management, guest services, or venue operations
  • Familiarity with radio communications and real-time coordination systems
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, late nights, and weekends during event periods
