Job Description

The Seasonal Program Coordinator works directly under the supervision of the Program Director and Program Manager in the planning, organization, and execution of CDA’s adaptive winter programs, including alpine skiing and snowboarding. The Coordinator will assist with volunteer coordination, participant registration, and on-mountain operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work closely with multiple organizations, including CDA and Powderhorn Mountain Resort.

This position runs through the end of March and is a full-time 32 to 40 hrs/ week position that will include some weekends. The hours may vary depending on the demands of our partners, and program events. Office hours generally fall between 7AM to 6PM Tuesday through Sunday. Time will flex to accommodate the demand of the evening and weekend hours for the program. The Program Coordinator is responsible for opening and closing the CDA Grand Junction Office, and the CDA Powderhorn Office during public operating hours.

Requirements

As the Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

Programs

  • Support Program Staff with activity setup, ensuring materials and equipment are ready for use
  • Assist with participant check-ins and provide basic instructions or guidance as directed by Program Staff.
  • Help with communication between participants, volunteers, and program staff to address immediate needs.
  • Step in to assist with program activities when requested by Program Staff.

Volunteer Support

  • Help ensure volunteers are prepared for their roles by providing reminders or assisting with training sessions led by program staff.
  • Assist with scheduling and communicating volunteer assignments as needed.
  • Provide general support to volunteers during activities, helping them follow established procedures.
  • Help collect volunteer hours and ensure that required forms are submitted to the Program Manager.
  • Assist Program Staff with training, scheduling, and supporting volunteers.
  • Communicate regularly with volunteers to ensure they feel prepared and supported.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with volunteers.

Data and Reporting

  • Assist with the transfer of data into holistic reports, review, decipher, and provide insight from the data.
  • Work with the program team to ensure all registrations, scheduling, billing, and daily reporting are completed.
  • Assure that all elements of participant registration and activities are logged in our data system.
  • Support CDA’s efforts in compiling and analyzing data to create end-of-season reports highlighting program successes and areas for improvement.

Risk Management

  • Help monitor safety during activities by observing participants and volunteers and reporting concerns to Program Staff.
  • Assist in inspecting equipment for basic functionality and safety, flagging issues for the Program Director to address.
  • Follow and promote CDA and Powderhorn Mountain Resort safety guidelines as directed.
  • Notify program staff of any incidents or concerns during activities to ensure proper follow-up.
  • Support on-mountain staff to ensure proper safety protocols are followed.
  • Monitor weather and snow conditions daily to adjust programming plans and ensure participant safety.

Administrative Tasks

  • Assist with keeping participant and volunteer records organized, ensuring they are passed to program staff for review.
  • Help program staff with routine data entry or basic administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Contribute to program communications by gathering information or photos for staff to use in updates or social media posts.
  • Provide logistical support by helping arrange schedules or coordinating supplies for program activities.
  • Coordinate schedules with volunteers and program groups to align program needs with CDA policies & procedures.
  • Organize and track inventory of program supplies and equipment, ensuring readiness for each program day.
  • Assist with processing participant payments, invoices, or reimbursements, ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of skiing, snowboarding, and basic ski resort operations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with resort staff and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
  • Proficiency with PC-based programs, Google Suite, and database systems.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid Drivers license and clean driving record

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience in outdoor recreation or adaptive sports.
  • Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance.
  • WFA certifications and CPR certification.
