Job Description

The Osage City Police Department has an opening for a full-time Police Patrol Officer.

We provide 24/7 service serving a population of approximately 2,800 people. We are located 30 minutes southwest of Topeka along K31 Highway. Our department consists of seven full-time officers, including the Chief of Police.

Applicants must exhibit the highest level of integrity, self-motivation, and a community-oriented mindset. Applicants are required to have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary starts at $20.50 per hour (increases by $1.00/hour after KLETC completion)

Up to $26.00 per hour, depending on experience, training, and qualifications.
Paydays are bi-weekly on Fridays.

The City has excellent benefits, including KPERS retirement, health (the city pays employee single plan), vision and dental insurance options, vacation, holiday, and sick leave.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 21 years of age
- U.S. Citizen
- Valid Kansas driver’s license with a clean driving record
- High school diploma or GED is required
- High moral character and integrity
- No Brady/Giglio violations
- KLETC certification is preferred

Applicants be able to pass pre-employment drug screening, physical, psych assessment, oral and written exams, extensive background investigation, having no past felony record, domestic violence, D.U.I convictions or diversions, or other serious misdemeanor convictions.
