Company is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire a Materials Specialist to support warehouse operations, inventory control, and quality hold management.

In this role, you'll manage material flow across receiving, inspection, inventory, and fulfillment processes, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and alignment with production needs. You'll partner closely with the materials and quality teams to support inventory analysis, resolve discrepancies, and keep operations running efficiently.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and hands-on, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.



As a Materials Specialist, you'll:

  • Receive incoming materials and perform physical, visual, and documentation-based inspections.
  • Communicate with production and engineering teams to resolve receiving issues and discrepancies.
  • Manage inventory, including cycle counts, discrepancy investigations, and reporting on material status.
  • Process material movements in MRP systems, including creating work orders, transfers, and shipping/receiving transactions.
  • Pick and deliver parts to the production line and support internal material transfers.
  • Triage incoming materials for rework or scrap and ensure proper handling of returns and RMA processes.
  • Support production planning by consolidating pending parts and following up on material orders.
  • Maintain organized and clean warehouse, receiving, and inventory areas.
  • Ensure all quality documentation associated with shipments is accurate and complete.
  • Troubleshoot material flow issues and remove processing roadblocks.

Daily tasks

Manage, process and perform all return merchandise transactions including receiving returns to stock and put way. Manage and control Material and QA hold inventories. Assist Materials and Quality teams with inventory analysis. Support and assist with all operation projects and special assignments. Perform Warehouse and Fulfillment functions; Receiving, Receiving Incoming Inspection, Inventory Management, Returns, Kit Audit, Cycle counts, and Order Processing; responsible for inventory and be able to manage and control new material and returns through return program.

Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Receive incoming material. Perform Incoming receiving inspection -- physical and visual inspection & document verification
  • Communicate with production and engineering teams on any receiving issues and/or discrepancies
  • Consolidate pending parts for repair charges and assist with material production planning
  • Follow up on pending material orders for completion, prioritize the tasks based on its urgency
  • Organize and maintain cleanliness of stock inventory locations, receiving dock and warehouse
  • Handle the internal product transfers shipments
  • Pick Work Orders and deliver parts to production line
  • Ship and Receive material
  • Perform Inventory cycle counts and discrepancy investigations
  • Triage incoming material parts for rework or scrap
  • Perform MRP transactions create work orders, transfer inventory, ship/receive orders
  • Ensure Quality documentation provided with shipments is correct
  • Troubleshoot Material Movements, or roadblocks to processing
  • Report on inventory qty, units processed and overall material status

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 4 year of warehouse/inventory experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal communications and organization skills, ability to multi-task while making effective decisions
  • RMA, procurement or Return to Vendor experience preferred
  • Attention to details and strong organizational skill - Independent person and have ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Team Player, Problem solver
  • Comfortable working in a start up environment
  • Proficient with MS office is required
  • MRP system experience & knowledge (SAP, Oracle, Etc)
