Job Description and Duties

The employee with be working with contracts for Engineering Branch. This will consist of ensuring that sound administrative policy; as well as legal and statutory authority is followed and making recommendations to program staff to assist in securing contract approval. Knowledge of the contract process will give the opportunity to serve the programs in all contracts matters including: monitoring and evaluation of services rendered for work needed to maintain infrastructure including employee and visitor facilities, employee housing, laboratories, domestic water and septic systems, water delivery systems, dams, levees, roads, trails, fencing, gates, parking lots, restrooms, ADA improvements, and HVAC and electrical projects to ensure safety and efficiently run facilities.

Work with the Department on technical issues in FI$Cal and administer bond funding through ABCRS. Prepare outgoing correspondence and answer incoming correspondence, participate in meetings with program staff to explain departmental contract policies and procedures. Special projects as assigned, which include other administrative analytical assignments as back-up to other analysts in the unit.

Class Title: Analyst II/ Exam Bulletin

This position is a 12-month Limited Term (LT) and may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.

If you currently have permanent status in your position and have passed probation, you have mandatory reinstatement rights into your former position at the end of this LT appointment. If you have not had prior permanent or probationary civil service status, you will be separated from state service.

Working Conditions

Office is located in West Sacramento. Limited travel to off-site regional offices may be necessary. May include some overnight travel. The incumbent works 40 hours per week during regular business hours. This position will be eligible for a hybrid work schedule; in office three days a week and telework two days a week. With the use of a computer, computer keyboard for several hours a day, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
